LUCAS VALLEY–MARINWOOD, Marin County — October 28, 2026. Property owners in parts of Lucas Valley and Marinwood should check their 2026–27 property tax bills before paying. The Marin County Department of Finance says it is issuing corrected bills because the Miller Creek and Bolinas school districts submitted revised direct-charge amounts after bills were prepared for mailing on September 30.
How much could the amount change?
According to the county’s October 2 notice, approximately 5,650 bills across affected areas require revision. Each affected parcel in the Miller Creek school district would see a $17.34 increase; affected parcels in the Bolinas district would see $11.70. The affected areas include parts of Terra Linda, Marinwood, Lucas Valley and Bolinas, rather than every property in Marin County.
What if you already received your bill?
The county advises paying online because its online payment system already reflects the corrected amounts. Owners should compare the updated online balance with any physical bill already mailed. A notice describing additional direct charges does not mean every owner owes the same increase or that all other assessments have changed.
Why were the mailed figures different?
Direct charges from local districts are placed on property-tax bills alongside ordinary ad valorem property taxes. The county says the new district information arrived after printing preparations, so it could not be included in bills mailed September 30. The Tax Collector’s Office is handling revised notices rather than asking residents to calculate the adjustment themselves.
